Mexican Palmetto - Sabal mexicana

The Mexican Palmetto (Sabal mexicana) is a medium sized upright palm tree for warm season landscapes and garden. This tree is extremely drought tolerant has a wonderfully ornamental trunk and reliable sturdy foliage year round. Huge clusters of flowers are also present in spring leading to berry like fruits in fall. This can be slower growing in cooler and moister climates. It actually thrives in dry heat. The native species is most common in production.
