Dwarf Palmetto - Sabal minor

The Dwarf Palmetto (Sabal minor) is a small to medium sized palm shrub or tree for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing. This plant epitomizes the swamps around New Orleans. It grows in sprawling thickets and on occaison forms a trunk. This is one of the easiest palms to grow. This plant needs to be moist at all times. Do not plant this unless you are willing to water or live in a swamp. The native species is most common in production.
