Laurel Willow - Salix pentandra

The Laurel Willow (Salix pentandra) is a large thicket forming shrub to small tree naturalized thought the Eastern United States. This species is named for the foliage that resembles a Cherry Laurel. It is usually found invading waterways and sunny forest edges. This is an exotic invasive species that has naturalized in the United States and should be controlled and eradicated when possible. This is a naturalized variety of Salix. Production should be limited if not banned.
