Blue Elderberry - Sambucus caerulea

The Blue Elderberry (Sambucus caerulea) is a large shrub or small tree native to the Western United States. The berry of this species is coveted for jam, pies, and wine but is rather nasty by itself. This plant can be invasive outside of the native range. The native species is most common in production.
