The Western Soapberry (Sapindus drummondii) is a medium sized deciduous tree native to the Central United States typically used for natural restoration and occasionally gardens. This species has a really nice bark in the winter, and the berries are great for birds and other wildlife. This plant can be messy in the landscape with leaf, berry and bird droppings. The native species is most common in production.
