Palo Zorillo Senna - Senna atomaria

The Palo Zorillo Senna (Senna atomaria) is a small broadleaf evergreen flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant has a nice clean form, glossy green leaves, and a showy yellow flower in spring. It grows relatively easy and makes a nice patio or courtyard tree. This plant does produce a pod that takes until the new flowers emerge to drop. The plant has been known to be invasive in tropical climates and is best restricted to arid landscapes. The native species is most common in production.
