The Silver Peso Mescal Bean (Sophora secundiflora 'Silver Peso') is a large flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub for arid landscapes and gardens. This species has impressive pendulous flowers for an arid climate plant. It also has a silvery leaf which gives it the name. This plant will defoliate in prolonged drought and the seeds are very poinsonous. This plant is a natural occurring cultivar of Sophora secundiflora.
