Texas Mountain Laurel - Sophora secundiflora

The Texas Mountain Laurel (Sophora secundiflora) is a large flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub native to the Southwest United States. This species has impressive pendulous flowers for an arid climate plant. This plant will defoliate in prolonged drought and the seeds are very poinsonous. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
