Mellow Yellow Spirea - Spiraea thunbergii 'Mellow Yellow'

The Mellow Yellow Spirea (Spiraea thunbergii 'Mellow Yellow') is a medium sized flowering shrub for landscapes, gardens, and borders. This species has a naturally sprawling habit and makes a great border or bank shrub where it does not have to be pruned. This is very similar to the parent species but with yellow leaves all season long. This plant does best if planted where it can be pruned minimally. Shearing will destroy the habit. This plant is a cultivated variety of Spiraea thunbergii. Photos from the parent species may aid in identification.
