Rostrata Stewartia - Stewartia rostrata

The Rostrata Stewartia (Stewartia rostrata) is a medium sized flowering tree for a landscapes and gardens. This species is valued for the Camelia like flower, exfoliating bark, and distinctive branching. This is one of the least hardy Stewartia. This particular variety requires a warmer climate for winters, but also requies dormancy so often struggles in hotter locations. The native species is most common in production.
