The Arch McKean Common Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Arch McKean') is a large flowering shrub for landscapes and gardens. This species is sought for the vivid and fragrant flowers, and is later blooming than other varieties. Lilacs need morning sun to prevent mildew. While there are natural cultivars of this species in production it is one of the most common parents in hybridization.
