Emerald Spreader Japanese Yew - Taxus cuspidata 'Emerald Spreader'

The Emerald Spreader Japanese Yew (Taxus cuspidata 'Emerald Spreader') is a medium sized evergreen shrub for landscapes and gardens. This is one of my favorite spreading yews. The habit is more mounding than spreading and easily controled with hand pruners. It is much hardier than Taxus baccata 'Repandens', but similar in texture. Shearing will ruin the habit of this plant. The species is also sensitive to overwatering. This is a cultivated variety of Taxus cuspidata. Photos of the parent species may help in identification.
