Bean Pole Hybrid Yew - Taxus X media 'Bean Pole'

The Bean Pole Hybrid Yew (Taxus X media 'Bean Pole') is a medium to large sized evergreen for landscapes and gardens. This is one of the most reliable columnar Yews. It stays much narrower than Hicks Yew, and is much less prone to ice and snow damage than Irish Yews. Hybrid yews typically need well drained soil, are sensitive to overwatering and sun scald. Hybrid yews are typcally crossed between Taxus baccata and Taxus cuspidata varieties. Variations can be subtle, and photos of other Hybrid Yews may help in identification.
