Van Hoey Smith Oriental Arborvitae - Thuja orientalis 'Van Hoey Smith'

The Van Hoey Smith Oriental Arborvitae (Thuja orientalis 'Van Hoey Smith') is a pyramidal conifer for use as a specimen or hedging in gardens and landscapes. This is one of the best of the yellow Aroborvitae for the bright yellow color that doesn't seasonally appear brown or orange like other varieties. This plant is prone to bagworms and ice damage and it develops very prickly dead interior needles. This is a cultivated variety of Thuja orientalis. Photos from the parent species may aid in identification.
