Windmill Palm - Trachycarpus fortunei

The Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei) is a medium sized palm tree ideal for landscapes and gardens. This particular palm has extemely large flowers that seem to emerge from a large pod. It is also one of the most cold tolerant, and has beautiful blue to purple fruits. This plant does hang onto dead leaves which can create a maintenance issue with height. The native species is most common in production.
