Mountain Hemlock - Tsuga mertensia

The Mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensia) is a pyramidal coniferous tree native to the Pacific Northwest and used extensively in landscapes and gardens. This species has blue foliage and a distinct needle that make for a really nice landscape plant. This plant needs very well drained soil and does not do as well on the East Coast. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
