Frontier Elm - Ulmus 'Frontier'

The Frontier Elm (Ulmus 'Frontier') is a large upright shade tree for landscapes and garden. This variety is tolerant of Dutch Elm disease and urban conditions. It Also has a reddish to purple color that is rare in birch. The pyramidal shape makes this much less suitable for street trees than other varieties, but it is still and all around quality tree. This hybrid is a pollinated cross between Ulmus carpinifolia and Ulmus parviflora.
