California Bay - Umbellularia californica
The California Bay (Umbellularia californica) is a small evergreen tree or large shrub found in landscapes, gardens and natively in Oregon and California. This is a great looking plant, but be sure and read the liabilities before planting. It is not he Bay for cooking. Leaves can cause skin irritations and the aromatics can cause headaches and sneezing. The native species is most common in production.
