Fatshedera - XFatshedera lizei

The Fatshedera (XFatshedera lizei) is a broadleaf evergreen shrub or vine that has been coined by one author "a pointless mating". This plant could be used for an evergreen foundation plant. However the tangled, vining mess that is the nature of the habit makes me not want to use it for anything. This is one of those plants where you could come up with lots of aesthetic problem, and that makes the fact it is hardy a problem as well. This plant is a cross between the invasive Hedera helix and Fatsia japonica. This is one of those cases of breeding for the sake of breeding whether you should or not.
