Spanish Bayonet - Yucca aloifolia

The Spanish Bayonet (Yucca aloifolia) is a broadleaf evergreen shrub native to the Southeastern United States and ideal for landscapes, gardens and naturalizing. This plant has elegant leaves in the shrub form, but can also develop a trunk over time to form a tree. It is also more tolerant of water than most Yucca. It is distinguished by a solid red stripe lining the edge of the leaves. This plant has very sharp spines accompanying the red stripe that lines the leaf. The native species is most common in production.
