Buffalo Thorn Jujube - Ziziphus mucronata
The Buffalo Thorn Jujube (Ziziphus mucronata) is a small ornamental fruit producing tree for landscapes and gardens. This variety has a more showy flower than most of the genus, but has a slightly smaller fruit. Dropping fruits will stain hard surfaces such as sidewalks or patios so plant in an open space. This plant also is very thorny. The native species is most common in production.
